FYFFree Your Financials

Trust & Privacy

You deserve to know exactly how this works.

You're sharing real financial information with us. That's a serious act of trust, and we take it seriously. This page tells you exactly what we do with your data — plainly, honestly, and without fine print.

What we collect and why

Your name. To make the app feel like it was made for you, not a spreadsheet.

Your email address. To send you helpful reminders if you haven't logged your spending — and for account access. Nothing else.

Your financial information — income, bills, balances, spending habits. This is the whole point. We need it to help you. We use it only to show you your own picture back to you, more clearly.

We never ask for your banking credentials, your SIN, your government ID, or anything we don't actually need.

What we never do

We never sell your data. Not now. Not ever. Not even anonymized versions of it.

We may show occasional ads to free tier users to help keep FYF free. Those ads are never informed by your financial data — we do not share what you earn, owe, or spend with any advertiser, and we never sell your data to anyone.

We never share your financial information with third parties without your explicit, specific consent.

We never use your data to judge you. Your numbers are information, not a verdict. That is true inside FYF and it's true in how we handle your data.

How your data is protected

We built FYF knowing that no system is perfectly safe from every threat. So instead of assuming nothing will ever go wrong, we designed for what happens if it does. We have taken deliberate steps to limit what a breach could expose — steps that go beyond what most apps at our stage bother with.

We won't describe those steps publicly. Doing so would be more useful to the wrong people than to you. What we will tell you: we have designed deliberately to limit what could be exposed if something went wrong, and we do not log your financial information.

If you are a security researcher and want to discuss our approach, reach out at privacy@fyf.services. We are open to that conversation.

Your right to export your data

You own your data. Every number you put into FYF belongs to you, and you have the right to take it with you.

A full data export feature is coming — it will let you download everything FYF knows about you in a clean, readable file. We are building this now and it will be available before FYF opens to the public.

How to delete your account

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. When you do, all your data is permanently removed — transactions, bills, history, everything. There is no waiting period and no recovery after deletion.

We do not keep shadow copies. We do not hold onto anonymized data. When you're gone, you're gone.

How to reach us

If you have questions about your data, your privacy, or anything on this page, reach out directly:

privacy@fyf.services

You will get a response from a person, not an automated reply. We take these questions seriously.

Our commitment on advertising

FYF may show occasional ads to free tier users. Ads are how we keep the core experience free for the people who need it most — and that matters to us.

Here is what we commit to: ads on FYF are never targeted using your financial data. We do not share what you earn, spend, owe, or save with any advertiser. We do not sell your data. Ever. An advertiser on FYF knows nothing about your financial situation — and they never will.

The paid tier exists for people who want more features. It will never change the privacy of your data, and it will never make the free experience worse.

Everything you learn on FYF is freely available in books, libraries, and across the internet. We are not financial advisors — we are your guide to the information that was always out there waiting for you.
